Your pillar of strength through cancer:
Mt Gambier Cancer Support Group Incorporated.

Who we are and how we help
The Mt Gambier Cancer Support Group Incorporated is not supported or affiliated by or with any other group in Australia.
The Mt. Gambier Cancer Support Group Incorporated was founded in 1981 by the late Rhonda Phillips. Rhonda was the Director of Nursing at the old Mt. Gambier Hospital when she was diagnosed with cancer. With the assistance of volunteers, she established the group that exists to this day. The group aims to support clients within the Limestone Coast during their Cancer journey and any monies raised and/or donated stays within this area to be drawn on for their assistance. Clients can self-refer, or be referred by a medical officer, service provider, Oncology Unit, family or friend. Contact is made by a client co-ordinator when a referral is made, sometimes a client is only seeking information, reassurance or a chat and a phone call suffices. In other cases, more involved needs might become evident, and a meeting is organised. All information is strictly confidential and identified needs are discussed between the client co-ordinators and the Group Chairperson, and the best ways to service the needs are chosen.
